Our Certification Process

When you see Certified Used at Old Man Bricks, it means the set has been cleaned, inspected, and verified against the official parts list so you can buy with confidence.

What “Certified Used” Means

  • Authentic LEGO® only — no clones, no knockoffs.
  • Cleaned & inspected — checked for major wear, cracks, and obvious damage.
  • Verified complete — checked against the official inventory/parts list.
  • Color & part accuracy — we verify correct colors and correct part types.
  • Minifig/accessory verification (if included) — inspected for cracks/loose joints/major wear.
  • Box & instructions disclosure — clearly listed on the product page.

Our Inspection Checklist

  • Parts counted and matched to the official inventory
  • Colors verified (no “close enough” swaps)
  • Minifigs (if present) checked for torso/arm/leg cracks and loose joints
  • Stickers and prints visually checked for major peeling or damage (noted if present)
  • Bricks cleaned (dust/grime removed) and packed for safe shipping
  • Box/instructions presence and condition noted (if included)

Note: Normal play wear can exist on used LEGO items. If we see anything beyond normal wear, we disclose it on the product page.

Condition Grades We Use

New

Factory-sealed (or clearly stated if open-box). Product page will specify exact condition.

Used

Authentic LEGO items that may show normal play wear. Completeness and any known issues are stated on the product page.

Certified Used

Cleaned, inspected, and verified complete against the official parts list (unless the product page states otherwise).

Retired

No longer in regular retail production. Condition and completeness vary and are stated on the product page.

Missing Piece Guarantee (Recommended)

If a Certified Used set arrives and you believe a piece is missing, we’ll make it right.

  1. Contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number.
  2. Include a clear photo of the build step/page where the part is missing (or the parts layout if applicable).
  3. We will choose the fastest fair solution: ship the missing part, issue a partial refund, or provide a return option when appropriate.

This policy applies to items labeled Certified Used. Any exclusions will be stated on the product page.
